Here's a portrait done with pastel pencils, for the portrait group. This is a very close crop of the original photo reference, from Redfloor at Stock.xchng
A4 pastel paper.
I'm playing with a couple of other crops of the ref, just to see how different crops can produce different moods etc.
the crop tool is my favorite--looks like you like it too--zeros in on what's important. Great handling of the old man's mouth and jaw line and brow. I guess great drawing period.

ReplyDeleteYep, cropping a reference image can produce dramatically different end results. It's always fun to try out a few different options...
