I enjoyed my hour doing the RSPB's Big Garden Birdwatch yesterday morning. My highlight was a flock of 11 goldfinches, up in the top of the tree at the bottom of the garden. Inspiration to get the brushes wet...
wonderful - I only got 2 goldfinch visiting in the hour I did - then of course later on when I wasn't recording I got a load more of them and plenty of other birds too - but in the hour I recorded hardly any!! Beautiful goldfinch painting, my favourite garden visitors!
...and welcome to Sharon's Pics! Painting, drawing and printmaking inspired by the natural world is my thing - I love the challenge and it's great to see the subjects coming to life on the paper or canvas. I never get bored of it.
I also have another blog, Cambridgeshire nature notes, where you'll find drawings, sketches, studies, photos and general rambling on about the natural world as I find it...

Really lovely Sharon, like the composition in this painting.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it always the way! Some of my regulars didn't make an appearance either - no house sparrows and amazingly no blackbirds
